When:

Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 10:00AM – 1:00PM

Where:

Brooklyn Institute for Liberal Arts (BILA) –  600 Kingston Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11203

Description:

Families of seniors who are applying to college are invited to attend our workshop to receive help from volunteers with the Financial Aid application process.

Parent Assistance:

Some parents will have general questions and will mainly need help understanding the process, timeline and required documents. Others who are further along will need one-on-one assistance inputting their financial information into the online application.

Volunteer Training:

A brief training guide will be emailed to volunteers in advance. In advance of the workshop (from 9:30 – 10:00 am), FFL will lead a review session for volunteers and take any questions.

Goals:

(1.) To give an in depth overview of the financial aid process, timeline and resources.

(2.) To have all families’ FAFSA forms and supporting documents as close to completion as possible.

After a successful College Essay Writing Workshop on November 5th,  we welcome you to join the second part of the FFL College Literacy Series at Brooklyn Institute for Liberal Arts and work with the parents of seniors who are submitting their college applications this month!
